Trenchless Sewer Repair FAQs
Yes. While trenchless is our preferred approach, there are situations where trenchless replacement isn’t possible, or trenched replacement simply makes more sense:
- Extremely short lateral replacements or partial lateral replacements
- The grade has dropped due to excessive water exposure to the soil
- Other access issues make trenchless replacement impossible or difficult
There are many variables that can affect the cost of your trenchless sewer repair:
- Length of sewer lateral
- Grade of sewer lateral
- Depth of sewer lateral
- Condition of sewer lateral
- Interference from utilities, sidewalks, driveways and streets
We offer free estimates on all trenchless sewer repair work, so if you want to know the cost for your property, just ask.
Our preferred trenchless sewer repair method, pipe bursting, is very straightforward.
First, a small access hole is dug at either end of the sewer line. A hydraulic winch then pulls a bursting head through the old pipe, which bursts the old pipe outwards.
Next, a new high-quality polyethylene sewer pipe is pulled into place. These oil-based materials are equally slick and dense, protecting your sewer from crushing, tree roots, and clogs.
Finally, the access holes are filled, any displaced landscaping is replaced, and we clean the job site.
Trenchless sewer replacement typically takes 1-2 days, including digging the access holes, bursting the old pipe, installing the new pipe, and finishing the area. Deeper laterals, longer laterals, and laterals with poor accessibility may lengthen the time, but it is very rare for residential properties to take more than 3 days.
